Juggler -- The Musical

Greetings intrepid fans!

I'll get the writing update out of the way first. Ben, Again is coming along. Getting back on the horse is always a little choppy and this first draft shows that I think. It feels clumsy to me, but I like the story. There's some plot mechanics that I'm currently unsure how I'm going to overcome, but that's the way any story should be, I think. Each new tale has its own problem points that are somewhat daunting and yet a little exciting. Otherwise you're just writing the same story over and over again. Currently this one's just under 2,000 words.

Now onto something really interesting. So I've been in touch with an old friend of mine who is an absolute genius when it comes to music. His band, Pro-Aggression (check them out at www.pro-aggression.com) has a killer set of songs out that remind me a lot of Dream Theater. He's been thinking about doing some collaborative work and what came out of our initial discussions is a concept album of my novel, Juggler!

Chris has been dying to do a concept album, ala King Diamond, and I've always been a fan of Queensyrche's Operation: Mindcrime and Pink Floyd's The Wall. So this just seemed the natural course of events. Chris mentioned that he'd like me to do the lyrics and he'd basically do the rest and my first reaction was to balk at the idea. After a couple nights' sleep on the matter though, I've decided that I would rise to the challenge.

I'll keep you posted on the progress. It really is an exciting idea ... this will be Pro-Aggression's second album and a chance for Juggler to find new fans.
